On Saturday, 7 December, University Hospital of North Durham will host a dazzling display of Christmas cheer as 22 festively decorated campervans roll into town for the Durham Dubs Campervan Christmas Cruise.
This magical event, organised in support of CDDFT Charity, promises to bring joy and festive spirit to the young patients and families of the Treetops Children’s Ward.
Each campervan in the convoy will be uniquely adorned with twinkling lights, colourful designs, and festive characters, creating a spectacular sight outside the hospital.
The convoy will arrive on-site via the service yard and fire track, parking in the consultant car park to ensure minimal disruption.
Children and families will have the opportunity to enjoy the display, with some young patients able to leave the ward and experience the festive magic up close.
This enchanting event is part of the CDDFT Charity’s mission to enhance patient care and experiences across County Durham and Darlington.
By supporting initiatives like this, the charity aims to bring moments of joy and comfort to those spending time in hospital, especially during the holiday season.
Gillian Curry, Head of CDDFT Charity said: "We are thrilled to welcome the Durham Dubs Campervan Christmas Cruise to UHND. Events like these are a wonderful way to brighten the days of our patients and their families, showcasing the community’s care and support and generosity in supporting the work of our Charity."
