Clean Hands Save Lives
The most effective way to prevent the spread of infection is to wash your hands. Please make it a habit to wash your hands:
- When entering hospital and on leaving
- Before eating
- After using the bathroom
- If you accidentally touch wounds or medical devices
- When entering and exiting a ward
Please wash your hands using soap and water or hand sanitiser/wipes for 15-30 seconds.
Feeling Unwell? Please don’t visit loved ones in hospital
If you are experiencing symptoms such as a cold, flu, diarrhoea and/or vomiting, cough, or sore throat, we kindly ask that you delay your visit to help protect our most vulnerable patients.
Prevent Cross-Contamination
Help us create a safe environment by:
- Using visitor-only toilets rather than patient facilities
- Refraining from sitting on patient beds
- Avoiding the disposal of drinks or waste in patient hand wash basins
Advice for patients while in hospital
Wash your hands regularly throughout the day with soap and water, hand sanitiser/wipes. This is especially important, after using the bathroom and before you eat.
Please avoid touching any drips / tubes / drains or wounds you may have but if you accidentally touch them please wash your hands.
Avoid pouring drinks or food down your sink
Thank you for playing your part in keeping everyone safe and healthy this winter. Together, we can help prevent the spread of infection and protect each other during this high-risk season.
