Are you a veteran or a family member of someone serving in the armed forces, looking to explore a career within the NHS?

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT), in partnership with Helpforce, a national charity, and other North East NHS Trusts – North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, South Tees NHS Foundation Trust, and Tees, Esk and Wear Valley NHS Foundation Trust – is proud to offer a unique opportunity to expand volunteering in the NHS.

The programme is designed to create a pathway for veterans and their family members to explore roles within the healthcare sector, including both clinical and non-clinical positions.

This programme allows participants to gain first-hand experience through volunteer placements, which can then lead to paid employment opportunities or further training within the NHS.

How the Programme Works

The Volunteer to Career programme is a fantastic way to get a feel for different careers before committing to a permanent role or retraining.

Through career-based volunteering, participants will gain valuable insights into various professions, providing NHS experience that can boost applications and interview prospects.

Training and support will also be provided to help participants succeed in the recruitment process.

The best part? No prior experience or qualifications are required to apply, making this an accessible opportunity for all.
