Last week, Ward 6 at Bishop Auckland Hospital was visited by Trust Chairman, Professor Richard Scothon, who personally thanked the team for their dedication, compassion, and professionalism before the ward stands down this week.
Ward 6 was established as a temporary sub-acute ward to assist the Trust in managing increased demand over the winter months.
By supporting patient flow from Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham, the ward played a crucial role in ensuring patients received the care they needed in a timely manner.
SR Clare Purdy, Ward Manager Michelle Harker-Dewhurst, and SR Anju Vilasini would like to echo the Chairman’s sentiments and extend their sincere appreciation on behalf of the senior team to all colleagues who have contributed to patient care on the ward during this time:
“A big ‘thank you’ to all colleagues involved in the process of making the ward run effectively and enhancing the patients’ experience. It has been an amazing team effort, with staff coming together from different areas to provide high-quality care. We want to express our sincere gratitude for the hard work and positive contributions. These efforts have made a real difference, and we are proud to have worked with each and every one of you.”
The success of Ward 6 has been a testament to teamwork, dedication, and collaboration. The Trust deeply appreciates the commitment of all those who played a part in delivering excellent patient care during this period.
