Our Trust has two LED and IMG Tutors to help support our Locally Employed Doctors and International Medical Graduates. Meet our Tutors below.

Photo of Dr Revin ThomasDr Revin Thomas is a specialist in stroke medicine and neurorehabilitation, working as a stroke physician based at University Hospital North Durham and Bishop Auckland Hospital. After graduating from a medical school in India, he moved to the UK, completing training in family medicine, then rehabilitation medicine with a fellowship in stroke medicine at Newcastle Upon Tyne. He completed his MRCGP and MRCP, and was awarded an FRCP in 2024. He is passionate about education and training, taking up the role of locally employed doctor (LED) and international medical graduate (IMG) Tutor in 2024, to help support locally employed doctors working in the trust. He is also a Training Program Director for Rehabilitation Medicine (HEENE role). 

He will be working with the trust and LEDs on:

  • Recruitment activities for LED/IMG doctors
  • Supporting with educational development and supervisor identification
  • Helping develop a suitable appraisal process to cater to LED needs
  • Supporting induction and integration of IMG doctors new to the NHS
  • Looking at outcome measures, career development and training opportunities for LEDs

Photo of Dr Tibor SzugyiczkiDr Tibor Szugyiczki is an acute medicine consultant based at Darlington Memorial Hospital. After graduating from a medical school in Romania and completing his specialist training in general internal medicine in Budapest-Hungary, he moved to the UK to pursue a career here. After working at York And Scarborough NHS Trust and going through the ranks of SHO and Speciality Registrar he became a consultant in Acute Medicine at CDDFT.

He was involved in the junior doctor rota management for several years during which he became passionate in supporting the locally employed doctors and the international medical graduates in their careers. Dr Szugyiczki took up the role of locally employed doctor (LED) and international medical graduate (IMG) Tutor in 2024, to help support locally employed doctors working in the Trust.

He will be working with the Trust and LEDs on:

  • Recruitment activities for LED/IMG doctors
  • Supporting with educational development and supervisor identification

  • Supporting induction and integration of IMG doctors new to the NHS
