A joint initiative between County Durham and
Darlington Community Health Services (CDDCHS), County Durham and
Darlington NHS Foundation Trust (CDDFT) and St Cuthbert's Hospice
is being developed for patients as they come to the completion of
their cancer treatment across County Durham and Darlington.
The six week pilot programme has been developed with funding
from Macmillan Cancer Support.
The course begins on Thursday 4 November 2010 and is aimed at
addressing people's needs as they approach the end of their
treatment in order to avoid some of the issues that sometimes occur
when people feel unable to move on with their lives, such as
getting back to work, managing changes to diet or coping with
As the course is new to the area we would welcome people who may
have completed their treatment some time ago but not had the
opportunity to benefit from such support to come along too.
The programme will take place between 1pm - 3pm at the
Pioneering Care Centre, Carers Way, Newton Aycliffe DL5 4SF.
