Aycliffe Nursing team are Outstanding

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for delivering physical health services within Aycliffe Secure Centre, which accommodates some of the most vulnerable young people in our society.

The centre has recently undergone an Ofsted inspection, where the physical health team was rated Outstanding for the second consecutive inspection.

Inspectors said: "There are many examples of health professionals working creatively with staff across the centre to improve outcomes for the children. For example, they have supported one child to develop the skills to self-manage a health condition, and another child going through a complex medical procedure."
