Bad Weather

In anticipation of continuing poor weather, and in common with many other NHS providers in the region, we have made the difficult decision not to run outpatients services at Shotley Bridge Hospital, Chester le Street Hospital, The Richardson Hospital, Barnard Castle, or Sedgefield Community Hospital, tomorrow, Thursday, 1st March.  We are making every effort to get in touch with patients affected by this decision and sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment this may cause.  We will be offering rearranged appointments as soon as possible.

Our teams are making every effort to continue as usual at University Hospital of North Durham, Darlington Memorial Hospital and Bishop Auckland Hospital, but this is very much dependent on the changing weather.  Please only attend your appointment if you are able to do so safely and please let us know if you cannot attend your appointment or procedure using the number on your appointment letter.

Our urgent and emergency care services are continuing to run as usual, however, please only attend if absolutely necessary.
