Celebrating National Day for Staff Networks

Today, Wednesday, 8 May we're proudly celebrating the National Day for Staff Networks, with the theme for 2024 being "Raising the Bar."

Why do we honour this day? It's all about recognising the incredible value that staff network groups bring to our organisation. These groups play a vital role in enhancing our operations and fostering a sense of belonging and inclusivity among our workforce.

Research from 2020/21 highlighted that over half of workers expressed a desire to join a network upon returning to shared physical workspaces. And nearly 40% of organisations relied on these networks to stay informed about employees' wellbeing.

Here at #TeamCDDFT, our staff network groups are the heartbeat of positive change, continually striving to improve the working lives of all our colleagues.

From providing a safe space for feedback to actively driving meaningful changes, these groups are at the forefront of progress.

We have four staff network groups:

  • Disability and Long-Term Conditions Staff Network Group
  • Unity and Ethnic Diversity (formerly BAME) Staff Network Group
  • Faith Staff Network Group
  • LGBTQ+ Staff Network Group

Each group has its own unique objectives and focus areas, contributing to creative initiatives and impactful policy changes across the Trust.

From advocating for disability leave inclusion to promoting LGBTQ+ understanding through the rainbow badge assessment, our staff networks are driving positive change and celebrating our diverse community.
