Family Health, together with the Practice Education Team would like to congratulate Gill Manning on the completion of her Hospital Play Specialist Apprenticeship.
Gill was the first Hospital Play Specialist Apprentice recruited here at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust in 2021. Gill has worked on Ward 21 at Darlington Memorial Hospital whilst completing her level 5 apprenticeship with Leeds college.
Gill will now be registered with The Healthcare Play Specialist Education Trust and has been deployed into a Hospital play specialist position on Ward 21.
Gill said: 'Doing an apprenticeship has helped me learn on the job and given me confidence in myself. From day one I have worked with a very supportive team and I have gained experience relevant to my role. W
"orking and completing the academic side is challenging, but the sense of achievement makes it all worthwhile. My experience of completing an apprenticeship is very positive - I'd recommend it to anyone!'
