Congratulations to our Class of 2023 apprentices!

On Friday 9 February, our Training & Development team together with Practice Education hosted our 7th annual apprenticeship awards ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate staff who have completed an apprenticeship in 2023.

This event coincided with National Apprenticeship Week and was attended by apprentices and line managers.

Guest speakers included Chairman Professor Richard Scothon and Practice Education Matron Jane Carr who both gave rousing speeches.

Chairman Professor Richard Scothon said: "It's wonderful to hear all of your success stories and the support you have received from colleagues, friends and family.

"I and the board are enormously proud of you. You are all amazing people, well done to you all and thank you on behalf of the Trust."

Jane Carr attended on the behalf of Executive Director of Nursing Noel Scanlon, and said: "Well done to you all for completing an apprenticeship despite all the pressures we have been facing.

"It's a lot of hard work to do an apprenticeship while working but very worthwhile - not only for you as an individual but for your team and the wider Trust.

"Don't think your learning has to stop now you have your certificate, there's lots of support for further development here at the Trust."

As part of the celebrations managers nominated staff for the Chairman's Apprentice of the Year Award and Professor Scothon selected two very worthy winners.
