Could you volunteer with us like Dennis?

Dennis
Our amazing volunteers like Dennis enhance the patient experience across the Trust and our services.
We're fortunate to have 110 volunteers who make a difference across our services every day!
Whether it's running our hospital radio stations, supporting MacMillan Services, driving patients through Friends of Darlington, handing out drinks or simply having a chat, our volunteers help us to deliver safe, compassionate and joined-up care.
Over the past year, Claire Mills our Volunteer to Career Project Lead, alongside Kenneth Pattinson, has revitalised our volunteer service with passion and dedication.
The Volunteer to Career Project, launched in September 2023 with support from the Helpforce Team, and offers valuable experience to those looking to enter the NHS job market.
Claire provides guidance, job application support, and interview skills, leading to a remarkable 50% employment rate within our #TeamCDDFT family!
We are grateful to our clinical and nursing colleagues for their support during placements.

A massive thank you to all our volunteers - you're truly invaluable, and your dedication doesn't go unnoticed.

'In recent times, I have utilised admissions to Richardson for respite direct from my fracture clinic, even at weekends. I have never worked anywhere with this efficiency before - it is reassuring and invaluable for the patient.'
