Healthy Cooking on a Budget

Tired of take away and pre-cooked food? Want to save money? Would you like to cook your own healthy meals! Then this Healthworks course is for you.

Healthworks, the healthy living centre in Easington, is offering to all people in County Durham a FREE 4 week basic healthy cooking on a budget course.

Come along to the fun and friendly cooking course starting on Thursday 28 April 2011 from 5.30pm - 7.00pm. To book a place please contact Healthworks on 0191 527 4150.

Aristea Stathopoulou business administration and events volunteer with Healthworks said: ''Often people say 'I do not have time for cooking' or 'I would like to eat healthier but I do not know how to cook.'
This cooking course is designed to give the participants the opportunity to learn:
• basic cooking skills and tips
• the key components of a healthy balanced diet and
• how to cook a healthy two course meal each week, fast and easy.

Overcome your barriers to a healthier lifestyle by learning how to make your meals healthier and get the chance to meet new people and have fun.''

Healthworks works in partnership with County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, NHS County Durham and Darlington, Northumbrian Water and Durham County Council.

Healthworks is located in Easington, County Durham and provides a wide range of health information, activities and support to those living in Easington, and the surrounding area.
