Inspiring our Future Workforce

On Thursday 18January representatives from finance, dietetics, manual handling, and the Trust Charity attended St Cuthbert's R.C Primary School in Crook.

We had a full day meeting all the children from nursery through to Year 6 talking to them about the various careers within the NHS.

The children took part in activities which included hand hygiene, using backcare equipment to help patients off the floor, learning about healthy eating, how we fundraise in the Trust, how much some things can cost within the NHS, how to dip test samples and some even got dressed up to learn about a variety of careers they could get into in the future.

The Deputy Head Lauren Ball said: "I wanted to thank you for organising such a brilliant day today. The children have chatted my ears off in our after school club about all the activities and jobs. The school was full of laughter and excitement, it really gave them a chance to see some different future paths."

'As I was very, very nervous, I must have been the worst patient ever and they were brilliant with me and I can't thank them enough - could you please pass on my sincere thanks.'
