Men's Health Week - FREE Health MOTs

Healthworks, the healthy living centre in Easington is celebrating Men's Health week and is holding an annual event where men in County Durham are being offered the opportunity to have their health checked for FREE!

The Men's Health Event will take place on Wednesday 15 June 2011 from 5.00pm - 7.00pm. On the day healthy refreshments will be available, physical activity inductions, and the opportunity to access a free health MOT, which includes blood pressure checks, BMI calculation and advice on developing a healthier lifestyle. Information on a range of services offered by the health improvement service, e.g. Stop smoking, Alcohol, Healthy Eating, Physical Activity and Cancer prevention, will be available and the physical activity team will be offering free Gym inductions.

Aristea Stathopoulou business administration and events volunteer with County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Health Improvement Services at Healthworks said:' We would like to use this opportunity to find out what other services men would like to see in their community. Following this event and your suggestions Healthworks is planning to establish a monthly event dedicated to Men's health. Why not come along for your free MOT health check and find out what else is on for you?''
