New MRI scanner arrives at DMH!

New MRI scanner arrives at DMH!

We're delighted that our new MRI scanner is arriving at Darlington Memorial Hospital on Saturday 5th May, following completion of new facilities to accommodate it.

A crane will lift the new scanner into position which, for a short time, will require changes to the way vehicles and pedestrians access car parks and other areas.  Please continue to use the main car park entrance and follow the diversion signs.  Entrances to the hospital building will remain open as usual, including A&E.

Subject to weather conditions, the MRI scanner will be in place by midday.

We apologise for any inconvenience this work causes and look forward to bringing you full details of the enormous benefits the new scanner will mean for our patients, in the near future.

Thanks to everyone who has supported our fundraising campaign to bring new MRI scanners to DMH and BAH - fundraising will continue - we're grateful to Philips for letting us have this fantastic equipment now, deferring payment until the end of 2018.

'I have to compliment everyone on their pleasant persona and their expertise and knowledge. By the end of the 5 days, I did not feel as though I had been in a hospital ward and was very relaxed.'
