NHS Heroes - Who's Yours?

NHS Heroes is an exciting new recognition scheme designed to celebrate the extraordinary work that staff in the NHS carry out every day.

NHS Heroes gives everyone in England the chance to acknowledge NHS staff. For the first time, patients, their friends and families, work colleagues and professional peers can nominate their personal

NHS heroes and celebrate their achievements on a national stage.

You don't need to save lives to be a hero - you can be nominated for all kinds of reasons. After all, it's often the smallest, most considerate things that go beyond expectations and make a real difference to people's lives

Anyone in the NHS family can be nominated as an NHS Hero for anything that demonstrates real commitment and compassion in NHS care or support work.

We are inviting nominations of clinical and non-clinical staff within the NHS. Anyone - patients, NHS staff and members of the public - can nominate their NHS Hero.

You can nominate your personal NHS Heroes online at www.nhsheroes.com

All nominations will then be collated by NHS North of England, and cascaded to local organisations for
validation and approval via clustered SHAs.

Local organisations will be asked to verify nominations for accuracy and professional appropriateness.

All those nominated will receive a certificate.

'In recent times, I have utilised admissions to Richardson for respite direct from my fracture clinic, even at weekends. I have never worked anywhere with this efficiency before - it is reassuring and invaluable for the patient.'
