Non-Executive Director Vacancy

NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR (ADVERT)

Help to influence, shape and drive the future of healthcare within your community

£13,000 per annum with a possible additional allowance of £2,000 should you take on one of a small number of designated Board roles. The total time commitment averages approximately 4 to 5 days per month

County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust serves around 650,000 people living in County Durham and the surrounding areas.  The Trust provides a comprehensive range of acute and community based services across two acute hospitals, community hospitals and numerous community bases.  Already a high performing Trust, we are investing in improvements in facilities and service developments, along integrated pathways focusing on patients' outcomes and experiences. We are looking to strengthen our non-executive team with the appointment of an exceptional candidate.

If you have the temperament, ability and experience to work at board level, and can offer a breadth of relevant skills and experience, we can offer an excellent opportunity to use your talents to make a positive difference to the lives of people in your community.  You will need to have the credibility to constructively challenge senior managers and be able to work collaboratively within and beyond the Trust to help develop and deliver our strategic plans.  The Board greatly values diversity in thinking and experience and would welcome applications from candidates with a wide variety of backgrounds and life experiences. Senior-level experience in direction or oversight of performance, workforce and / or finance are, however, desirable, given the skills profile of the current Non-Executive Group.

Under the Trust's Constitution, a Non-Executive Director must be a member of the Trust and must therefore live in our membership catchment area, which includes County Durham, Darlington and neighbouring areas of the North East.
