Physiotherapy Receives Generous Donation

Heartbeat GroupFollowing the sad death 12 months ago of Mike Priestman, Chairman of the Heartbeat Group at Darlington Memorial Hospital and a leading Freemason, funds have continued to be raised in memory of the very special service that he had provided for patients and staff during his 16 years of volunteering. A recent collection together with a £500 donation from the Freemasons of Darlington's County Lodge has purchased two specialist exercise cycles which were presented to the Physiotherapy Department by Mrs. Jean Priestman and members of the Heartbeat Group.

'I have to compliment everyone on their pleasant persona and their expertise and knowledge. By the end of the 5 days, I did not feel as though I had been in a hospital ward and was very relaxed.'
