As part of the relocation of the baby memorial garden at University Hospital of North Durham, some further improvement works are planned to the surrounding area of the garden and the access route.

In order to carry out these works in line with health and safety regulations, we unfortunately need to restrict access to the garden during the period of the works.

Therefore, from Monday 22 April for a period of approximately five weeks, we regret to inform you that there will be no visiting possible to the garden.

We understand that this restriction may cause distress and inconvenience and would like to sincerely apologise for this.

We would like to assure you that it is for the long-term benefit of those families and loved ones wishing to visit the new garden.

We will keep continue to keep you updated on the progress of this stage of the improvement works.

We appreciate your understanding, patience, and support as we work towards continuing to enhance this important space for our community.

If you have any queries please contact: Paula Brennan, Patient Experience Manager via email or telephone 0800 783 5774.

'In recent times, I have utilised admissions to Richardson for respite direct from my fracture clinic, even at weekends. I have never worked anywhere with this efficiency before - it is reassuring and invaluable for the patient.'
