Senior leaders meeting teams

The senior leadership team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust take every opportunity to see our services in action, meeting the individual and teams running them and hearing first-hand about theirworking lives, the role they play in our delivery of high quality patient care - and how they can support our staff.

Last week, Chairman, Professor Richard Scothon visited the gynaecology diagnostics unit at Chester-le-Street Community Hospital.

The busy team running the unit delivers several clinics including two-week wait cancer diagnostics, colposcopy, menstrual disorder, perineal and uro-gynaecology clinics.

They also run a fertility control service to which patients can self-refer.

Similar services run from a sister clinic at Bishop Auckland Hospital.

The teams are multidisciplinary, supported by excellent specialist nurses, nurses, physiotherapy and welcoming reception colleagues.

'Every aspect of my emergency care was dealt with quickly, efficiently and professionally with full explanations and compassion from all staff involved'.
