Sepsis team to run marathon for charity

Sepsis marathon

Claire Stocks and Lisa Ward from the Trust's Cardiac Arrest Prevention Team are running the Liverpool Rock and Roll Half Marathon for the UK Sepsis Trust on 14th June 2015.

Sepsis accounts for 37,000 deaths annually in the UK - that's more than bowel cancer, breast cancer and prostate cancer put together. The new sepsis care bundle is being launched to raise awareness among staff of the importance of recognising the symptoms of sepsis in a patient and responding quickly with treatments known as the 'Sepsis Six'.

Lisa and Claire are raising funds for the UK Sepsis Trust and would be grateful for any support. Please visit their just giving page for more information:

'In recent times, I have utilised admissions to Richardson for respite direct from my fracture clinic, even at weekends. I have never worked anywhere with this efficiency before - it is reassuring and invaluable for the patient.'
