Support World Antimicrobial Awareness Week 2023

anti

World Antimicrobial Awareness Week is this week.

Antimicrobial resistance is one of the most urgent global threats to health. Now more than ever all our healthcare staff need to work together to prevent serious infections whilst reducing inappropriate antibiotic use.

We encourage all our staff at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust to choose a new or renew their pledge on the Antibiotic Guardian website https://antibioticguardian.com/

Our Consultant Microbiologist, Pharmacy and Infection Control teams will be visiting wards at Darlingotn Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham to share good practice and new antibiotic formulary and stewardship developments.

Please also visit our pharmacy team displays showcasing Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness - outside canteen entrances at Darlington Memorial Hospital (Wednesday 22 November) and University Hospital of North Durham (Friday 24 November) lunchtimes.

'I am writing to congratulate you on your wonderful staff you have working for you at DMH.'
