Video consultations – go live

Like many other Trusts across the country, going forward CDDFT is looking at different ways to deliver services and care for our local communities as a response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. This includes using technology to support virtual consultations and patient appointments.

Video calling is as convenient as a phone call, with the added value of face-to- face communication. It can save both the patient and the clinician time and money, and brings care closer to home.

Instead of travelling to an appointment, patients will enter a clinic's online waiting area and will be 'virtually' greeted by a Receptionist who will check their details and refer them on to the appropriate clinical waiting area.

There is no need for patients to create an account and no information entered is stored.

CDDFT will go live with our first clinic this week and is working on launching the platform for a number of other specialties in the coming weeks.
