I am a consultant gastroenterologist specialising in inflammatory bowel disease nutrition and upper gastrointestinal cancer. I am the lead clinician for upper gastrointestinal cancer at the University Hospital of North Durham.

I graduated from Calcutta University in 1997. I did my specialist training in East Anglia, and was appointed as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at UHND in 2008.

I have a keen interest in medical education, and am the Royal College tutor for medicine at UHND.
