After qualifiing from Leicester University in 1994 and an SHO rotation in Northampton I entered the North East Specialist Registrar Training Programme in 1999. I became a consultant rheumatologist at North Tees and Hartlepool hospital in 2004 and after 4 years there joined the rheumatology department in Darlington in 2008.
