Dr Rebecca Cassans

Dr Cassans graduated from London, prior to moving to the North East to undertake her paediatric training.  She is dual accredited in paediatrics and community child health and took up a consultant post within the Trust in 2013.  Dr Cassans specialises the assessment and management of children with neurodevelopmental disorders, in particular pre-school children with concerns, i.e possible Autistic spectrum  conditions, within a multi agency framework.  In addition, Dr Cassans has a clinical role in the assessment and management of children with profound hearing impairment and has a strong interest in adolescent medicine and paediatric palliative care. 

Her interest in medical educaiton specifically targets in improving the communication skills of doctors within their professional framework.
