Welcome to the Trust's IBD pages, provided by and for people with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) in the Durham and Darlington areas. IBD is a term used to describe Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease. We hope these pages will help you to understand and manage your condition and how other people cope.
Telephone advice line
As part of the service, we provide an advice line for IBD patients.
There are four IBD nurse specialists, Victoria Fletcher, Sue Ritchie, Joanne Bone and Lauren Cook. They have all had special training in caring for patients with Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease. The advice line is run by the Gastroenterology Secretaries and should ideally be viewed as your first port of call if you have any concerns, questions or worries about your illness. The number will go straight to an answerphone, so please leave your name, date of birth, hospital number (if you have one) and best contact number. Please be aware this is not an emergancy advice line and will be triage accordingly and you will receive correspondence within a timely manner.
