Dermatology

Skin Problems & Minor Skin Surgery

The community dermatology and minor skin surgery service is part of County Durham and Darlington Community Health Services, specialist services directorate.

The service provides treatment and continuing care for a range of skin conditions for e.g. Eczema, Psoriasis, and will support those patients with long term skin conditions by promoting self care. We also provide a service to those patients requiring minor skin surgery. The service is provided from local community venues across County Durham and Darlington, thus preventing the need for patients to attend a hospital setting.

All of our GPwSIs  - General Practitioners with Special Interest in Dermatology and Minor Skin Surgery  - are accredited practitioners and our nurses are all registered with the National Regulatory Body.

'In recent times, I have utilised admissions to Richardson for respite direct from my fracture clinic, even at weekends. I have never worked anywhere with this efficiency before - it is reassuring and invaluable for the patient.'
