Colour Your Life

Colour your Life in County Durham provides access to creative and informal learning activities for the improvement of mental health and the development of emotional resilience.  An outreach programme is delivered at a range of community venues and weekly courses take place at the four 'Hubs' based in Newton Aycliffe, Stanley, Peterlee and Barnard Castle.


Many of the hospices in County Durham and Darlington offer emotional support to people affected by cancer and their families through their counselling and support teams.  An example is the 'Moving On' programme offered by St Cuthbert's Hospice in Durham for people who have survived cancer. Mind is a mental health charity that supports over 370,000 people across England and Wales. Their services include talking therapies, crisis helplines, drop-in centres, employment and training schemes, counselling and befriending.

Talking Changes

Talking Changes is a self-help and talking therapies service designed to help anyone living in the County Durham and Darlington area to deal with common mental health problems such as stress, anxiety or depression, as well as panic, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post traumatic stress disorder.
