Infertility

Welcome to Infertility Services

(based at Bishop Auckland Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham)

Within our Bishop Auckland fertility centre (County Durham ACU), we have a suite of rooms suitable for the investigation (CLICK HERE) and treatments (CLICK HERE) of patients suffering from infertility.

ACU reception

We have a dedicated fertlity team that are permanantly based with the ACU.

Investigations (CLICK HERE) include all the latest techniques available for assessing both male and female infertility.  These will be carried out as quickly as possible in order to:

              -  Find the cause of the problem

              -  Give you an estimate of your chances of achieving a pregnancy on your own

               -  Enable us to advise you of the most appropriate treatment.

County Durham ACU hosts a suite of rooms including a  scanning/treatment, an andrology laboratory and a gentlemen's room for on site semen production.

We have a good working relationship with the regional IVF centres and also a clinic abroad.

Referral

We will be pleased to see any couple or single women following referral by their GP or consultant. On receipt of the referral we will send you an acknowledgement letter, information leaflets and some documentation which you should complete and bring with you to your appointment (CLICK HERE)

How to find us

We are located on the Ground Floor at Bishop Auckland Hospital (link to map of hospital)

'I have to compliment everyone on their pleasant persona and their expertise and knowledge. By the end of the 5 days, I did not feel as though I had been in a hospital ward and was very relaxed.'
