What we do

Across both sites:

  • Provide care for premature and sick new born infants.
  • Support the Midwives and parents in caring for babies with extra needs on the post natal ward, to help prevent mothers and babies being separated unnecessarily.
  • Neonatal Nurse attendance at selected high risk deliveries.
  • Stabilization of ventilated infant prior to transfer to regional unit.
  • We aim to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for babies who have some complex needs, meeting all their needs, liaising and working with other members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Supporting parents in caring care for their sick/premature infant.
  • Provide facilities to enable parents to room-in with babies prior to discharge.
  • Provide a service for the early discharge of premature babies with our Outreach Service.
  • Delivering Newborn Life Support Training.

'I would like to thank all the staff for my treatment and their professionalism.'
