Skin Cancer Services

Macmillan Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist Team

The Macmillan Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist provide specialist knowledge, care and support for patients, and their families, from point of diagnosis, throughout treatment and manage patients follow up for skin cancer surveillance.

You will be introduced to your Skin Cancer Nurse Specialist at point of diagnosis and will receive an information pack containing contact details. Your nurse specialist is your first point of contact for concerns and will sign post to relevant health care professionals and departments involved and help reduce hospital admissions and G.P appointments though out your pathway.

The nursing service covers clinics at University Hospitals North Durham, Darlington memorial, Shortley bridge, Sunderland Royal and Bishop Auckland General Hospital allowing all patients to have a choice of location for follow up appointments.
