Urology

Urology is the surgical speciality that focuses on the urinary tracts of males and females and on the reproductive system of males.

The organs covered by urology include the kidneys, urinary bladder, urethra and the male reproductive.

Urology services in the South of the county are managed by South Tees NHS Foundation Trust. Outpatient clinics are provided at Darlington Memorial Hospital and the Richardson Community Hospital.

In the North, urology services are managed by City Hospitals Sunderland and patients will receive appointment for clinics at the Belmont Treatment Centre.

Paediatric Surgery: Elective paediatric surgery is offered above the age of two years. This includes circumcision and correction of hernias and undescended testes.
