Bishop Auckland Hospital (BAH) is one of the main sites within County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. Bishop Auckland Hospital offers comprehensive healthcare services, including:
- Urgent care/minor injuries
There is no emergency department at this hospital site. A minor injuries service is available Monday to Friday from 8am-8pm. The Urgent Treatment Centre can be accessed out of hours from 6pm-8am with a 24/7 weekend and bank holiday service. Please use 111 online or call: 111 to be given an appointment. Please do not walk in to this service as you will face a long wait and may be redirected to alternative service or hospital. - Surgery
The hospital has a suite of clean air theatres which support a centre of excellence for orthopaedic surgery. - Outpatient services
Various clinics and specialist consultations for ongoing care and management of health conditions. - Diagnostic services
Advanced imaging and other diagnostic services to support accurate and timely medical care.

Visiting information
To ensure the safety and comfort of our patients, wards and departments might have different and specific visiting hours and guidelines. We encourage visitors to check with the ward they will be visiting in advance for more information. You can do this via the Darlington hospital switchboard on 01325 380100.
The hospital is easily accessed by bus and detailed information on routes and schedules can be found on local transport websites or Google Maps.
Car parking
There is a car park for patients and visitors within the hospital grounds. This is a pay and display car park and you will need to pay on arrival and display your ticket. As with many hospitals, unfortunately this car park can get very busy and we would encourage patients and visitors to allow extra time ahead of your appointment time or scheduled visit for parking.

Blue badge holders
Parking for Blue Badge holders is free of charge, but please ensure your badge is clearly displayed.
Parking concessions
Please speak to the ward manager or those involved in your care or the care of your loved one if you believe you may qualify for free parking and they can issue you with an exemption form to place in your car windscreen whilst parking on site.
