About Early pregnancy assessments

Early pregnancy assessment is offered to ladies who are 6 - 14 weeks pregnant with unexplained abdominal pain or bleeding, and is available at Bishop Auckland Hospital (Monday – Wednesday), Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham (Monday – Friday).

How to access our services

You must be referred by your GP, midwife or other health care professional. If you have had a previous ectopic pregnancy or two consecutive miscarriages with the same partner, you will be able to refer yourself.
