Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Conditions relating to the pancreas such as pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer can cause you to not digest food properly. Doctors will often prescribe pancreatic enzymes to replace what the pancreas would normally be producing. These enzymes help to digest food so need to be taken alongside meals. Common prescriptions include: Creon, Nutrizym 22, Pancrease and Pancrex V.
If you are prescribed one of the above medications please see this information. There is currently a shortage of enzymes being manufactured, so some people are struggling to get their prescriptions fulfilled. Please see advice about how to manage this difficult situation.
