Pressure injuries

Pressure injuries, sometimes known as pressure sores, or pressure ulcers, are injuries caused to skin and the tissue beneath. These are generally caused by prolonged pressure to the skin. Pressure injuries can occur for a number of reasons, and nutrition and hydration are vital for both the prevention and treatment of them. This food fact sheet provides some further information.

Wound healing

Some injuries are not pressure related, for example, wounds from surgeries or accidents. Nutrition is also vital for these wounds to heal quickly and effectively.
