About our service
We offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and interventional procedures, as well as substantial plain film reporting and ultrasound service. The majority of acute work is carried out at University Hospital of North Durham (UHND) and Darlington Memorial Hospital (DMH), which operate a plain film and CT service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
We also offer a wide range of outpatient based CT, plain film and ultrasound procedures at Bishop Auckland Hospital (BAH), as well as providing plain film imaging for the PCT urgent care/minor injury unit. Our services operate at Bishop Auckland Hospital 7 days a week from 8.45am to 5pm, at Shotley Bridge Hospital from 9am to 12pm and 1.20pm to 4pm for GP referrals, from 9am to 12.30pm and 1.20pm to 5pm for Urgent Care referrals.
We offer an open access service for plain film imaging during 9am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday at DMH and UHND.
