Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs)
Free condoms for over 16s
Using condoms is an effective way to reduce your risk of sexually transmitted infections and unwanted pregnancy. We've changed the way we provide free condoms so that everyone who needs them has safe access to them. You can now order securely online and have them delivered free to your home in a discreet package.
If you are 16 years or over, living in County Durham or Darlington and would like a free condom pack (8 condoms and 2 sachets of lubricant) delivered to your home address, you can order them below.
Before you place your order please make sure you have watched the NHS videos 'How to choose the right size condom' and 'How to put a condom on'.
If you are aged between 13-15 years old and would like free condoms, please see our C Card section above to find you nearest outlet.
Please note: We process condom orders Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). Please allow 5 working days to receive your order.
What happens next?
Once your condom order has been processed, we will register your details on our electronic patient record which is held within the Sexual Health Service and is not accessible by any other health service. This information will be used to monitor the use of the scheme and improve your access to the sexual health service should you wish to come into clinic for any reason. The responsibility lies with the user for entering their personal details via this form. This information will be retained by County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust and will be treated as highly confidential - we will not pass it on to anyone else, unless we are legally obliged to do so.
About the C Card scheme
C Card is a condom distribution scheme that provides registered young people aged 13 to 24 years old with a C Card which entitles them to free condoms. It also gives young people access to other useful sexual health information, advice and support.
This initiative allows you to pick up free condoms from over 200 outlets throughout County Durham and Darlington once you have completed some straightforward registration details. The C Card is a plastic card the same size as a credit card.
