NHS Friends and Family Test

 CDDFTteam logo

The Friends and Family Test (FFT) gives you, the patient, the opportunity to provide feedback about the care and treatment you've received.

Good patient experience is associated with improved patient outcomes. It is therefore important that we collect regular feedback from patients, and take action to address any areas of poor patient experience.

You'll be asked to complete a FFT questionnaire before you leave hospital, if you have had an inpatient episode, outpatient or day case appointment, attended and left the A&E department, or are pregnant or have had a baby.

The results of the FFT are published on the NHS Choices website, so that patients and members of the public can see how their local services are viewed by those who have used them. The patient feedback will be available by ward name and specialty for each hospital site.

At the Trust, you can complete an FFT questionnaire  at Urgent Care Centres, Community Hospitals, District Nursing Services and community teams, Outpatients and Daycase areas.

'As I was very, very nervous, I must have been the worst patient ever and they were brilliant with me and I can't thank them enough - could you please pass on my sincere thanks.'
