Your Health Collection

A selection of books and digital support resources from Health Education England

Health Education England and the Reading Agency have worked together in partnership to bring together Your Health Collection to support users of health and prison libraries to understand and manage their health. The collection of 10 books and 30 digital resources on a theme of better health and living well were chosen by those working in healthcare, health information and knowledge specialists working in the NHS, in prisons, in public health and in Higher Education. The resources chosen are accessible, inclusive and reflect the diversity of society.

All resources are free - these books can be borrowed from our CDDFT libraries, please see our library catalogue and staff are able to access the online collection at their leisure via any computer or mobile device.

The Health and Care Video Library has been designed to help people manage their health and wellbeing, alongside the care provided by healthcare professionals. The videos have been written by medical scriptwriters, and reviewed by NHS clinicians. The videos are reviewed regularly to ensure that they provide up-to-date information.

Patients and members of the public can click HERE to access the Health and Care Video Library.

Healthcare  professionals can click HERE to access the Health and Care Library Resource Hub, a set of tools and resources to help you maximise the impact of using the video library.

Reading Well

Reading Well

Reading Well Books on Prescription help individuals understand and manage their health and wellbeing using self-help reading. The books are endorsed by health professionals, as well as by people living with the conditions covered and their relatives and carers. The scheme is also supported by public libraries.

Reading Well has published several Reading Lists, covering Long Term Conditions, Dementia and Mental Health (Please see the links under Related Publications). The Trust Library Service has purchased many of these books, however if we don't have a book in stock at your local CDDFT Staff Library, please don't hesitate to request it and we can try and get it from elsewhere! To search for the books please visit our Library catalogue or contact us for any assistance!
