The Clinical Simulation Centre
The Clinical Simulation Centre is a training facility located on the Ground floor at Bishop Auckland Hospital. The centre hosts a multitude of training courses that are both, hi-fidelity and immersive, to offer the best possible training and educational opportunities for those utilising the centre. The main attraction within the centre is the state of the art immersive Simulation Suite and Control Room whereby SimMan3G, SimMom, SimJunior and SimBaby are used to their fullest capacity. To find out more about our Simulators visit the County Durham and Darlington website whereby we list their full abilities.
Values and Standards
The centre prides itself upon the outstanding facilities it has at hand to produce real life simulated scenarios that allow trainees, CDDFT employee's and external Medical professionals the chance to enhance both their practical and non-practical skills in order to ensure the best delivery of care across the region. Simulation offers a safe environment in which learning can be conducted in a manner that is non-threatening to the public and is comfortable and enjoyable for all those involved, thus optimising the performance of our Healthcare professionals within the real world. Our courses aim to include the opportunity for individuals to participate in a simulated scenario; experiencing the full immersive nature of a simulation, alongside the opportunity to discuss with other Healthcare professionals and analyse what was done well/what could be improved. Within the discussions participants are also offered important up-to-date information that will benefit them in their line off work.
