The trust is keen to encourage educational research to help us understand and share good practise. All educational research activity should be registered centrally to allow us to be aware of projects and to share with the relevant local teams.
The defining research table will help you decide if your project is true research. If your project meets the definition of research, then you should not start your project until formal approval is granted.
Projects that are true research project will need to be submitted to IRAS (integrated research application system) using this link: https://www.myresearchproject.org.uk/SignIn.aspx
Please also complete the project proposal form. We would normally inform the medical school/HEENE/the trust about research projects taking place.
For audit and evaluation projects, you still need to complete the educational project proposal form but can start work on your project.
For support with projects or for any questions, please contact our Director of Undergraduate Medical Education on sallysadasivam@nhs.net
Please submit educational research proposal forms to cdda-tr.undergraduate@nhs.net
